The University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point (UWSP) was established in 1894 as a Teacher's College. The main campus consists of 35 buildings and 13 residence halls sitting on 400 acres, housing about 3,500 students. Enrollment is just under 10,000 students annually, with more than 400 faculty and teaching academic staff. Offering over 120 undergraduate program choices within 48 undergraduate majors and 78 minors, UWSP is consistently named one of the top Public Midwestern Universities in U.S. News and World Report’s College Rankings. Study abroad programs are offered by UWSP International Programs in more than 20 locations around the globe including France, Ireland, China, Australia, Britain, Mexico, Germany, New Zealand and Spain. Over 200 student organizations including student government, academic and professional clubs, Greek organizations, multicultural groups and community service/volunteer organizations enhance campus life. Choose from over 40 intramural and club sports, theatre, concerts, dance programs, art exhibitions, and the Performing Arts Series. UWSP also offers a campus newspaper, radio and TV stations staffed and run by students. Sports programs include NCAA Division III, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA).
