Central Wisconsin has become home to many events big and small.
Each year the Grand Theater packs the house with their thrilling calendar including shows such as The Price is Right Live!, Kenny G, performances by the Wausau Community Theater, and a wonderful selection of matinee showings for kids! Those into the local music scene have their choice of performances to see at local taverns each weekend.
The Central Wisconsin area also brought a new event to the area in 2017, The International Wisconsin Ginseng Festival. The festival was an all encompassing experience located throughout Marathon County. Visitors were able to see live entertainment and speak with ginseng growers down on the 400 block, but were also able to take part in the history by taking historical tours at Fromm Farm, visiting the 45x90 marker, taking a fall chairlift ride at Granite Peak, or heading out to the ginseng fields to dig their own root!
Sporting enthusiasts can take part in the Summer or Winter Badger State Games, offering over 50 events for athletes of all levels, or head to the ice and participate in the Leinenkugel's Classic Pond Hockey Tournament! For the serious runner... take part in the Wausau Marathon and qualify for the Boston Marathon while running through beautiful scenery in Central Wisconsin.
