Wausau and Central Wisconsin has a variety of theater and performing arts to entertain audiences both young and old.
The Grand, the area’s performing arts center, features a season full of wonderful entertainment. The Grand Theater brings an incredible variety of performances to the stage, including Broadway shows, music, comedy, dance and family programs.
Wausau Dance Theatre creates productions that fascinate audiences both young and old. Their highly acclaimed Storybook Weekend series of performances including this year’s performance Carnival of the Animals, continue to entertain all ages. Central Wisconsin School of Ballet is the official school of Wausau Dance Theatre. The school has been reviewed by many publications, most notably Newsweek Magazine, which called their production of The Nutcracker “...one of the nation’s nine most notable Nutcrackers...”
Wausau Community Theatre has a passion for bringing the Wausau area season after season of wonderful theatrical entertainment. From the indoor stage to the outdoor arena, WCT performs a variety of shows thanks to the many talented volunteers from the area. WCT features several productions, including big hit plays, musicals, and dinner theater performances.
Central Wisconsin Children’s Theatre brings monthly events to children of all ages with mainstage productions, fun-filled drama camps and educational workshops. Collaborative performances and field trips are also planned to create opportunities for young people to explore the world of artistic expression.
